Dream Now, Act Later: Neptune & Jupiter in Pisces, Spring Equinox, Sun in Aries

Happy astrological new year!

These next four weeks will have big energy moving through the cosmos and our lives. The Jupiter conjunct Neptune transit in Pisces brings unbounded water energy, plus the cardinal-fire energy of Aries with its electric, primal life force energy is sure to bring visionary clarity to the big question of – who are you, really? Authenticity is in the spotlight with hugely creative and passionate energies swirling about. It’s a chance to clarify your soul’s desires and determine the direction toward them.

The essence of life itself is flowing through the gates of the Spring Equinox, so dream now and take action later. While this energy flows, it’s a good time to cleanse your energy and purge yourself of anything asking to be released, as we witness the annual handoff from darkness to light. What will you be leaving behind as you march through the threshold of rebirth?

There is a spiritual tsunami upon us, bringing us yet another step closer to the mass awakening, the next level of consciousness, that is the New Earth.

Transit #1: Neptune conjunct Jupiter in Pisces at 23 degrees / April 12th

Jupiter brings to the table its qualities of faith, pleasure, and expansion, while Neptune offers up its otherworldly, spiritual sensitivity to create this sacred, magical, mystical energy that encourages us to dream bigger than ever before. The possibilities are infinite! Can you see it?

When we have grand visions and dreams, there can be pain in sensing the distance between where we are and where we want to be – and that’s normal. It’s normal to feel the ache of that emptiness, but the dreaminess of Pisces reminds us that that “emptiness” is pure potential. We can lean into that pure potential by trusting the Universe to catch us when we take those leaps of faith, swan diving into uncertainty. When the inspiration is there, you will figure it out – step by step by step. That’s the magic of the Pisces/Virgo axis, where vision and dreams meet practical, grounded action.

“Faith is taking the first step without seeing the whole staircase.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

This is all taking place in the artistic, big-hearted, self-sacrificial realm of Pisces, where there is huge healing potential. It’s a very ethereal energy, setting aside ego and identity and merging with source or higher power. It is the embodiment of true humility, not feeling superior to anyone or anything.

This can manifest in the shadow realm as giving up easily or being prone toward escapism, heading down the path of helplessness straight to martyrdom. Pisces is also capable of huge release of attachment – to form, definitions, structure. Fluidity is the name of Pisces’ game, which is where its sister sign Virgo comes in to offer balance.

With the Pisces/Virgo axis, we have fluidity on one end and structure on the other. Pisces dreams big and trusts the Universe while Virgo grounds those dreams into reality, into the physical world, by taking the necessary steps to get there. They function best together, as a balance.

Transit #2: Sun enters Aries / Spring Equinox

As the Sun enters the 1st Zodiac sign of Aries, we experience the astrological New Year. The electricity of primal life force energies abound as we transition from the dark half of year to the light half. At the Spring Equinox on March 20th, there is a complete planetary balance of light and dark, sun and moon, positive and negative, masculine and feminine.

This annual point of equilibrium is the most geomagnetic time of year, so more solar energy is entering our atmosphere right now than any other time of the year. Solar energy carries information, or codes, and can affect us physically as our bodies process all of this new energetic information coming in. This is powerful energy, so be sure to take care of yourself as we walk through this transformative yearly portal.

The Sun is our central star, the center of our solar system, around which everything revolves. In our natal chart, it holds our personality together the same way it holds our solar system together. It’s your internal tiebreaker – who gets the ultimate yay or nay. It represents our most basic values and is the most commonly known sign in astrology. It comprises our ego, which can easily dip into shadow territory in the form of arrogance, self-distortions, and seeing ourselves as the center of the Universe rather than our own Universe.

The Sun asks of us – who are you, really?

In Aries, the Sun is what’s called “exalted” – meaning it’s in its home-away-from-home. It is most comfortable in Leo, but Aries is second best. Aries is the primal fire sign, the very first in the Zodiac. It is where we learn to claim what’s rightfully ours. Where its sister sign Libra is all about compromise, Aries is concerned with survival, taking up space, fighting for our rights and getting our way – at least some of the time. It is, by nature, selfish, but that’s not a bad thing.

It’s our warrior energy that indicates to us that we are worth fighting for and that we have every right to be here, to live our life.

Aries has courage. It’s that part of us that chooses life, chooses to live – meaning that in its shadow realm can be the opposite – choosing death, suicide. This energy brings us back to the primal truth of the circle of life and the idea of survival of the fittest, where violence can be necessary and morals are relative, because survival is of primary importance. Aries boils us down to this question: Do you believe that you deserve to live?

“You have to be willing to think you’re valuable even when the world may not agree.”

Carly Whorton

When the Sun is in Aries, the core value of courage rises to the surface of our lives. Like a mama bear protecting her cubs, we will be willing to face our fears, to rise above, in order to protect what’s ours and what we love. We experience more clarity around what it is we are really dedicating our energy to, giving us the opportunity to reevaluate and correct course if necessary.

This placement shines a light on our inner warrior and encourages us to take risks that will bring us closer to who we truly are and what we truly believe in. An important lesson for us in Aries season, though, is that fighting isn’t always winning. Sometimes, winning is walking away. Either way, we all deserve to “win” in the ways that matter most to us, however that might look for you.

In Conclusion

The passionate, creative, dreamy energy of Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces are allowing us to dream big and with abandon, while the Sun in Aries shines a light on who we are now and who we need to become to move closer to those big dreams. Again, try not to dwell in that empty space, but rather let yourself be reborn in this cosmic flurry of primordial water and fire energies. This space is full of limitless potential.
